Product Description With a host of useful attachments, this slender wand takes the place of bulkier appliances. Its mobility allows you to go to the stove to blend a soup or whip potatoes, as needed. Chop onions in the food processing cup, or beat egg whites for a soufflE.
Amazon.com Review Equipped with an exceptionally powerful 280-watt motor, this versatile appliance is a combination hand mixer and hand blender. For mixing, beating, and whipping, there are two cunningly designed beaters that produce volume while reducing splashing. For kneading, there's a strong dough hook, and for blending, there's an attachment that can be used in the accompanying 2-cup container (or any container) for small jobs like salad dressings. For chopping, the power unit attaches to another container with its own blades to make quick work of nuts, onions, hard cheeses, herbs, garlic, and meats. (The container's base serves as a snap-on plastic lid for storage.) The mixer/blender has three speeds and a power-pulse button for working through tough jobs. It stands upright on a nonskid base, and its power cord pivots to stay out of the way or can be locked in place. This appliance carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Multiple motor failures November 10, 2008 J. Hoane (Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have purchased severeal of these units for various birthdays, Christmas presents, wedding showers, etc... and at least TWO of the units have failed in under 2 years. Initially everyone loved the product with all the handy dandy attahments, but with only 1 speed-HIGH-these units are no longer useable. I trust Consumer Reports for most of my purchases and this unit was highly rated, but obviously they do not use the product for many years to determine its longevity!
Braun handmixer November 2, 2008 cookie I have only used this mixer once - and have not used the various attachments. I thought the mixer was comfortable to hold and did a good job. Compared to my old mixer, the mixers themselves were very lightweight. I don't know how durable they will be as time goes by. Thought it was pricey. Only time will tell if this mixer was worth the price of $44.
Braun Multi mix November 1, 2008 Stormy Dog (Michigan) The mixer is great, it does perform many different tasks. However, this isn't the first one I've purchased. After some use, it stops working except for 1 speed.
mixer works great October 21, 2008 moxie lover (Auburn, Maine) I had a mixer like this years ago and loved it. This one has lots of power and I use it all the time. A great product.
Best handmixer available @ any price October 16, 2008 Jack of All Trades (East Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not one to write reviews, but this product deserves kudos from me. I know that packaging text will indicate that this mixer is not suitable for institutional use, but we use this model exclusively in our bakery for small mixing jobs not suitable for our 12qt mixer. We have tried all of the higher priced *******-Aid and O*str products but they failed in less than a year's worth of use. The secret is the direct drive motor assembly. No plastic gears to strip or metal gears to fail. These units would last almost indefinetly if it were not for the failure of the speed switch. It will reach a point where all you have is high speed and pulse and we have used them in this condition until the switch fails completely, but the motor never, ever fails. Plenty of torque for the thickest, heaviest batter. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is the issue with the switch, which may be due in part to our extensive use.
